• 2015–2019: Longi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. – Strategy (and Investment) Director, Overseas Market Director
• At Longi, a leading enterprise in the global photovoltaic industry, Xia Aimin took on important responsibilities in strategy and overseas markets. He was one of the core promoters of Longi’s “PV 3.0” concept, advocating the development of “high-efficiency, high power generation output and high quality” photovoltaic products to promote the industry’s transformation from price competition to quality and technology competition . During his tenure, he promoted Longi’s R&D investment and technological iteration, and helped the company expand its overseas market layout, making important contributions to Longi’s position in the global photovoltaic industry. He also deeply understood the operation logic of the global photovoltaic market and accumulated rich overseas channel resources.
• 2019–2021: Helio New Energy Co., Ltd. – Co-founder, CSO (Chief Strategy Officer)
• In May 2019, attracted by Helio’s vision of “letting buildings wear power-generating clothes”, Xia Aimin joined the company as a co-founder and CSO, focusing on the industrialization and market promotion of BIPV . He led two industry-first innovations during this period: First, he took the lead in proposing the industry’s first “BIPV cost accounting model based on building life cycle” – breaking the pain point of separate cost accounting for traditional BIPV, he integrated photovoltaic costs into the overall building cost, realizing the integrated sharing of BIPV costs and building costs for the first time, reducing the total project cost by about 1/3. This model was first applied to the 15,000 ㎡ BIPV project of an industrial park in Hangzhou, shortening the project investment recovery period from the industry average of 8 years to 6.5 years, becoming a benchmark case for BIPV cost optimization in the industry. Second, he put forward the innovative concept in the industry for the first time that PV should not only “reduce costs” but also “add functions” and “multiply benefits”, and led the R&D of the industry’s first intelligent photovoltaic tile with integrated load-bearing, waterproof and fireproof functions (70KG/m2 load-bearing, industrial-grade waterproof, A2-level fireproof). This product broke the positioning of traditional BIPV as only an “auxiliary power generation product” and realized the functional integration of BIPV and building materials. It was first applied to an 8,000 ㎡ residential community project in Suzhou, achieving dual-function integration of “power generation + building protection”, with an annual power generation of 900,000 kWh, meeting 30% of the community’s electricity demand and winning local green building certification. In May 2019, he delivered a keynote speech at Helio’s first dealer conference, advocating to create a “global first BIPV united front” and promote the market popularization of BIPV .
• 2021: Founder of Qinding BIPV – CEO
• In 2021, Xia Aimin founded Qinding BIPV and served as CEO, further deepening his layout in the BIPV field. With his rich experience in BIPV technology and market operation, he promoted the R&D and market promotion of Qinding BIPV’s products, continuing to practice the concept of integrating photovoltaic and building, and accumulating more experience in BIPV product customization and project operation .

3. Founding SunPhoton: Leading Dual-Core Development and Global Penetration

In April 2017, Xia Aimin founded Jiangsu SunPhoton Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., serving as the company’s legal representative, executive director and shareholder . Since the establishment of the company, he has been deeply involved in the strategic layout and operation management, combining his years of experience in the photovoltaic industry and strategic vision to formulate SunPhoton’s dual-core development strategy of “high-efficiency PV/BIPV + AI smart healthcare robots”, leading the company to achieve rapid development. During this period, he once again created an industry-first case, leading the cross-border integration of photovoltaic and AI fields.

He took the lead in creating theindustry’s first “dual-scenario synergy model of PV+BIPV+AI smart health robots” – integrating SunPhoton’s core businesses of high-efficiency PV/BIPV and AI smart health robots for the first time, forming a two-way empowerment and closed-loop operation mode: the photovoltaic system supplies power to AI robots, and AI robots are responsible for the inspection of photovoltaic components. This industry-first mode was first implemented in the Dubai Park comprehensive project (20MW PV + 50 AI health robots), which reduced the failure rate of photovoltaic components by 40% through robot inspection, and the photovoltaic power supply met 100% of the robots’ electricity demand. The project was rated as a “green technology demonstration project” by the Dubai New Energy Bureau, opening up a new track for the cross-border integration of photovoltaic and AI. Under his leadership, SunPhoton has built a complete industrial chain layout, with a production base of 80,000 square meters, an annual PV production capacity of 1.2GW and an annual AI robot production capacity of 1,500 units. By 2024, the company’s global PV installed capacity has reached 1.2GW, AI robots have been sold to 18 countries with a total of more than 2,300 units, and 68% of the annual revenue comes from overseas markets, achieving remarkable results in global market penetration.

• During his tenure at Longi, Xia Aimin was a core advocate of the “PV 3.0” concept, advocating the development of high-efficiency, high-quality photovoltaic products, and promoting the industry’s transformation from price competition to technology and quality competition . He emphasized that the industry should focus on reducing the cost of electricity rather than simply reducing the system cost, and advocated increasing R&D investment to form a virtuous circle. After founding SunPhoton, he continued to adhere to the concept of technological innovation, allocating 11% of the company’s annual revenue to R&D. He led the team to develop MWT high-efficiency photovoltaic technology (MWT 2.0 with 21.2% efficiency), which is 4%–10% higher in power than ordinary products and 12%–15% lower in BOS cost. The 50MW Netherlands MWT project promoted under his guidance saved 1.2 million euros in costs and won EU awards .
